I know he's one of America's most hated men but I've actually been really impressed with Zuckerberg's process for responding to these situations. He started first with what sounded like a lighter version of a shadow ban once they'd identified what they believed to be potentially fake news before taking the drastic step of outright censorship. Throttling a questionable story while it's investigated seems like a reasonable middle ground. Especially compared to what Twitter did.
Whether Facebook should've determined the NY Post article to be "potentially fake news", however, is an entirely different matter. My inclination is the government needs to be more involved in establishing that criteria for feeds protected by Section 230.
