Legacy media was a circular firing squad. And they deserve every bullet. Please note - I used the term legacy on purpose. I don't know what comes next but it sure isn't "Democracy dies in Darkness" (lord, what tripe)
Who do you think would support him NOT stepping down? Who would provide the muscle, so to speak, for Trump to take over the entire political and financial apparatus in this country??
You underestimate -- almost insult -- those who voted for him.
These things don't always go smoothly, it's just a fact of history. I'm not saying he's staying, but there is a chance it goes poorly given what we've seen so far. Would be irresponsible not to note.
Maybe you didn't get the memo but US Presidents are only permitted 2 terms. I travel in pretty conservative circles but have not met a single person who thinks otherwise, or who would support a 3rd Trump term or any illegality or unconstitutional actions on his part.
Tell me when in "history," aside from the 1/6/21 riots, it did not go smoothly? And even then, what would have been the mechanism by which Trump would hold onto power, and who would support those efforts. Again -- please answer this question -- who would provide the muscle? Who would take up arms (absolutely necessary), defeat the US Military, take over the court system, and the Fed's printing presses?? WHO???
You probably think as well that legitimate legal challenges constitute an "unsmooth" transition, that they themselves constitute an "insurrection."
They do not. Those avenues are legal, legitimate, and used in nearly every election by both sides.
Whatever you think of DJT he is not delusional. There's a reason nobody has tried to install himself as dictator. With our separation of powers, and further separation within the branches of government, it's a hopeless proposition.
You really should consider what you wrote. Your suggestion that a coup is on the table, that enough people would support it, says a lot about what you think of Trump voters.
He may not be delusional, but he certainly really, really enjoys pushing boundaries. And enjoys it even more when followers push those boundaries for him. If he gets in one last boundary pushing then the "stakes" of this next term are approximately the same as his prior term (after the election), which is to say death and chaos in D.C..

"If he steps down peacefully at the end."

You watch say too much TV my friend.
Take a look, I did not say it would work.

I.e., not very much.

Did Kamala Harris write that for you?
