Proposition 22 requires the app companies to give benefits to workers who meet certain hourly requirements (15 hours/week and 25 hours/week cutoffs, where these hours only count when the worker is actively on a job, not waiting for a job).

To truly maintain the current status quo the app companies will need to start limiting workers to less than 15 hours of on-job per week. I presume they will do this, requiring workers to work for 3 or more app companies at a time (which some do already).
